Community participation is the key to progress. Whether you would like to register and captain a new shoreline site, or bring a group to volunteer on the day of the event (September 20, 2008) we strongly ask for your support for this great event.To participate, there is NO pre-registration required, but if you would like to contact your local beach captain prior to the Clean-Up date, contact info can be found on this site. Walk-ons are not only welcomed, but encouraged! We do recommend all participants to bring heavy-duty work gloves, a clipboard, and several friends.

Data Cards

What makes the International Coastal Clean Up such a unique event is the data card function. On one day, millions of people around the world gather along their local shorelines to not only remove trash and debris, but catalog every piece picked up. (And that includes everything, every cigarette butt, every scrap of paper, everything!) Locally we have been compiling this data for 15 years are some of our local shorelines. With this data and information, we can then look back and truly take hold of our impact on our local environment. Download a Data Card!

The 15th Annual International Coastal Clean Up Event in Monroe County was  HUGE Success! With 431 volunteers removed 4,052 lbs. of trash from shorelines in Monroe County. Great Job to Everyone!! Stay Tuned to see data from the 2007 Clean Up, COMING SOON!!
